* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR… GRAND COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL UTAH THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF…MOAB…CASTLE VALLEY

* UNTIL 615 PM MDT

* AT 258 PM MDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SERIES OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN TRACKING FROM THE SOUTH INTO GRAND COUNTY.

* THE STORMS PRODUCING FLASH FLOODING WILL IMPACT AREAS IN AND AROUND MOAB AND CASTLE VALLEY…AS WELL AS RURAL AREAS OF GRAND COUNTY.

MINOR RUNOFF FLOODING HAS ALREADY BEEN REPORTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT IN SOME RURAL AREAS OF GRAND COUNTY. TRAINING OF ADDITIONAL STORMS OVER ALREADY SATURATED SOILS WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUS FLASH FLOODING. OF SLOT CANYONS…SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS… AND ACROSS ROADS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
